Gerardo Sanchez is a Retired Army Combat veteran with more than 22 years of service. Raised in Miami, Florida he graduated from South Dade High and attended Miami-Dade Community College before joining the military in 1988. He attended Basic Training in Ft Dix New Jersey and Advanced Individual Training at Ft Eustis, Virginia where he became a Medium Helicopter mechanic (CH47). During his 22 plus years of service served in several positions from Squad leader, Flight Engineer, Technical Inspector, Platoon SGT, Production Control Supervisor and 1SG in the Aviation field. His Duty stations included Ft Campbell, Cp Humphreys, ROK, Hunter Army Airfield, Panama, and Honduras. His combat tours include Desert Shield, Desert Storm and OEF in Afghanistan. During his time in the military he became a Mason and is a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite as well as a Shiner. He served as Head of house in several levels of the Order. In October 2006 his Masonic travels and work earned him the last and highest Degree of masonry in the United Supreme Council and was crowned as a Grand Inspector General of the 33rd Degree. Gerardo retired from the military on August 31, 2011 culminating his 22 plus years of service. He currently resides in Fayetteville, NC and works for L3 communications as a Team Lead and Flight Engineer on Simmons Army Airfield where he supervises helicopter maintenance as well as a Crew member for Test Flights.
